Mrs. Jimmie Denita Clark's Obituary
Jimmie Denita Clark, age 64 of Madison, passed away on April 10, 2015. Jimmie was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 22, 1951 to the late Johnny and Jimmie White. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Her husband, James, recalls knowing Jimmie from the time that they were nine years old. “I remember that red-headed girl just following me around,” he says. “We were together for 43 years, and legally married for 42 of them.” Jimmie was loved by everyone. Her husband was career military and Jimmie herself was a career military wife. While stationed in Germany, Jimmie organized cookouts and dinners for the families in her husband’s unit. She also ran the skating rink, was Team Mom for all sports, and worked with the Cub Scouts.
Every year, Jimmie and the family would go to Panama City Beach. For her birthday and anniversary, Jimmie and James went to Tunica so that Jimmie could partake in a little gambling fun. She loved to play cards, especially pinochle. Her grand-daughter recalls everyone gathering around the table to play “spoons,” too.
Jimmie had a strong personality and a great sense of humor. Having been the primary cook for the better part of her husband’s military career, when he retired from the service, she told him “well, after 22 years of cooking and cleaning, I’m retiring too.” James remembers “she made the best lasagna and spaghetti you ever put in your mouth.” Jimmie also learned German and Mexican cuisine, and learned ceramics and macramé.
In addition to her parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by her brothers, Chuck Warren, Jerry Warren, Bert Lee Warren, and John Rodney White; and sister, Bennie Sue Beckham.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Clark; son, James Dock Clark III (Stephanie); daughters, Jimmie Leanne Ludy (John) and Dana Ray Clark (David Ladd); brothers, Wayne Warren, Danny Warren (Susan), Brad White (Trina); sisters, Jackie Lynn White and Yolanda Hale (Sammy); grandchildren, Caleb Fiddler (Alyssa), Jonathan Fulton (Kristi), Jimmie Rayn Shouse (Austin), James D. Clark IV, Ryker Dock Newland, Chloe Lillian Solan Clark, Thad Ludy, and Blake Ludy; great-grandchildren, Keaghan Fiddler, Samantha Fulton, Emily Fulton, Brady Shouse, and Ethan Fulton; as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Jimmie’s family will receive friends and visitors on Sunday, April 12, 2015, from 4pm until 8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Additional visitation will take place on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 11am until 1pm. A Celebration of Life service to honor Jimmie will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
