Jimmy Dale Anderson, 74, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, died on Saturday, June 3, 2023 while surrounded by his family. Born December 19, 1948, in Madison, Tennessee, he was the son of the late O’Dell Anderson and Sue Bloodworth Anderson.
Jimmy spent most of his days living in Hendersonville enjoying life with his family. When he was not at home, you could catch him on the lake, as he was an avid fisherman, or in the woods chasing his elusive buck. He was the winner of Big-Fish in many of the tournaments he entered and his home is surrounded by many of his prize hunting trophies.
Papa (or ‘Pop’ as he was called by most of the family) will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it. He was a teacher to many and always offered to pass along many of his life learned skills to his family members or anyone else that was willing to take a lesson or listen to a story. He would not want any of you to be sad due to his passing but to rejoice and tell the many stories about him or share the ones that he shared with you.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Kandess Turner; brothers Danny Anderson, Donnie Anderson and Billy Carroll Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gwen Burkhalter Anderson; daughters Kelly Anderson, Kimberly (Cory) Turner, and Kacey (Mark) Davis; sisters Tina Anderson and Terri Tennant; brother Kenny (Peggy) Bloodworth; grandchildren Kaylee Anderson, Kody Turner, Kenzi Anderson, Zachary (Emilee) Scott, Kameron Davis, Kasen Anderson, Kristian Anderson; great grandson Rueben Randle, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, June 7 at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Thursday, June 8 at 2 pm. The family will welcome friends and visitors from 12 pm until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kody Turner, Zachary Scott, kameron Davis, Kasen Anderson, Khristian Anderson, Dylan Grass, Kenzi Anderson (Honorary), Michael Murphy (Honorary) and Rubeben Randle (Honorary).
Spring Hill Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Anderson. A Landmark since 1785, “Where Nashville Comes to Remember.”
