Jimmy Hymer's Obituary
Jimmy Hymer ,age 71 died peacefully at home after a brave battle with colon cancer on January 9, 2017 surrounded by those he loved most. He is preceded in death his parents Bill and Lola Hymer.
He is celebrated and survived by his beloved wife, Gayle, his devoted children, Kerri (Ray) Crunk and Kristi (Brian) McIntyre, adored grandchildren, Natalie and Nolan, brothers J.W. (Virginia ), Bobby (Shirley), Larry (Dorothy), sister Jeanette (Jerry) Moscato, brother in law Jim Hamlett, and sister in law Barbara Burlison (Jimmie).
Jimmy was born in Huntsville, Alabama to Bill and Lola Hymer. His life long love of fishing began with fishing with his Daddy, Mama and siblings. The family moved to Nashville where he met his wife of 53 years.
Gayle was the love of his life. She was devoted to him as he was her. They were a team and one another's rock. They were inseparable to the end. He was a protective and loving Daddy to Kerri and Kristi. He adored his grandchildren Natalie and Nolan. His was their biggest fan and supporter in their lives and endeavors.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He lived out his passion for the outdoors in life and business. He founded Sportsman's Discount, ran it locally
for many years. He also owned Po’ Boy Bass Tournament Trail. He and Gayle ran the Po’ Boys as a service to fishermen and their families. They served many charities for children by hosting and running tournaments.
He is remembered by his girls for family camping, fishing and hunting adventures . Kristi carries on his passion for fishing and hunting while Kerri is the camper.
