Jimmy Thomason's Obituary
James Reavis Thomason, Jr., “Jimmy,” passed away at his home on March 22, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Marie Thomason, sister Barbara Wright, daughter Debbie Sisco, and grandchildren Shane Butler and Marie Varsos.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Missy Thomason; his daughters Angy Thomason, Karen Campbell, and Sharon (Sherman) Butler; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Born in 1937, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Nashville. He graduated from West High School in 1956. He immediately entered the printing industry with jobs at Cullom and Ghertner Printing Company and The United Methodist Publishing House. He joined Rich Printing Company in 1962 and spent the next 44 years there. He retired as president/owner in 2006.
He served 8 years in the Tennessee Air National Guard. He was a 20 year Board member of the Printing Industry Association of the South, a member of Hillwood Country Club, and a lifetime member of the Elks Club. He enjoyed fishing, cars, boats, travel, Volunteer football, and Jack Daniels.
He was a quietly intelligent, conservative Christian man who succeeded well beyond his dreams due to hard work and the grace of God. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation with the family will be at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 1:00pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel with entombment immediately following in the Spring Hill Serenity Chapel Mausoleum.
