Joanne Burgess Wingett's Obituary
Joanne Wingett, a beloved resident of Madison, Tennessee, passed away on March 6, 2024. She was born on December 24, 1938, in Giles County, Tennessee.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, George Wingett, her brother Paul Burgess, his wife, Louise and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron Goodrum Burgess and Lola Sue Hatfield Burgess, two brothers, Dwayne Burgess (Elaine) and Myron Burgess, Jr. (Earline), and nephew Lanny Burgess.
Joanne dedicated her life to education. She began her teaching career in Inglewood and spent the majority of her time teaching at Stratford High School. Her passion for nurturing young minds left an indelible mark on her students.
In addition to her professional achievements, Joanne was a faithful child of God. She was a devoted member of the Madison Church of Christ.
Joanne’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the knowledge she imparted, and the love she shared with her family. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
The family invites guests and relatives for a time of visitation on Friday, March 15th, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, with a funeral service and burial to follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery.
