Mrs. JoDean Puckett Sweatman's Obituary
Mrs. JoDean Puckett Sweatman, 83, widow of Richard Augustus “Whitey” Sweatman and a resident of Nashville, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Skyline Medical Center.
The Smithville, Tennessee native was the daughter of the late Luther Otis and Jessie Foster Puckett. She was a sitter for many years and was well known to each of them as “Granny”. She loved music, enjoyed cooking and was an avid fan of all Vanderbilt sports, especially baseball. Mrs. Sweatman was a talented storyteller and enjoyed trips with family and friends. Most of all she loved her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Kim Sweatman; three sons, Richard Sweatman, Jim Sweatman and Tim (Maria) Sweatman; two sisters, Frances Hernandez and Erma (Vern) Hawn; a grandson, Adam Sweatman; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be conducted Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be to St. Jude Childrens Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Nashville, 615-865-1101.
