Joe Jeans' Obituary
Joe Jeans, 82, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Decker Jeans, his parents, William Tillman Jeans and Laura Mae Farris Jeans, a son-in-law, Kenneth Allen Stahl and a grandson, Gabriel Steed Jeans.
Mr. Jeans is survived by his four children, Donna Denise Temple, James Robin Jeans, Teresa Mae Stahl and Joey Tillman Jeans, nine grandchildren, Megan, Brock, Michael, Tyler, Nicha’lous, Krista, Katherine, Jacob and James, Jr., three great-grandchildren, and three siblings, Betty Jane Weir, Katherine Frogge and Bob Jeans.
Joe served in the US army and served on a tour as a military policeman in Germany. He went into heating, cooling and refrigeration upon his return to the US. He did that for the rest of his life. Working for The LEE Company and then Vanderbilt. He loved fishing and would often be found at Fate Sanders Marine on a bright sunny day. He loved having a good garden and checking on it each morning. He loved to dance and listen to music at the VFW. He toiled with hobbies like matchstick houses, popsicle stick lamps and wooy sticks and he would perfect his handwriting with both hands from time to time. Joe wasn’t an adventurer or the big spender he just was happy where he was and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 21 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road in Nashville. The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 12:00 pm also at the funeral home. There will be an hour of visiting prior to the service. The committal service will immediately follow the funeral at Spring Hill Cemetery.
