Mr. John Dahlgren's Obituary
Mr. John Dahlgren, age 82, passed away on August 28, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on July 12, 1942 in Cook County, Illinois to the late William John and Marcella Hanson Dahlgren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara; son, Roy Dahlgren; granddaughter, Shelby Dahlgren; brother, Charles Dahlgren and niece, Robin Dahlgren. He is survived by his wife, Shannon Puckett; his son, Nicholas Dahlgren; his granddaughter, Emma Dahlgren, Shannon’s four children, Jay Broadrick (Rebecca), Diane Burden, Wally Broadrick (Sabrina), and Amy Hurd (Jim); along with 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; his daughter-in-law, Sue Dahlgren of Adelaide, Australia; brother, Bob Dahlgren (Judy); sisters, Minnie Dahlgren Cauthen and Cynthia Dahlgren; nephews, Robert and William Dahlgren.
John graduated from East Nashville High School in 1960. He played football, golf, and was a part of the TN state championship track teams of 1959 and 1960. He was a member of Crossville Church of Christ and attended the Hendersonville Church of Christ. He was an avid golfer and was always watching or listening to a sporting event and especially involving his favorite team, the Tennessee Vols. He lived life to the fullest and loved to travel. He was able explore and experience destinations all over the world including Hawaii, Alaska and Australia. John will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. John’s graveside service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Collier Cemetery in Bledsoe County, Tennessee. Local arrangements are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37216, 615-865-1101, www.springhillfh.com. Graveside services will be conducted by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home.
