Mr. John (J.W.) Darby's Obituary
John Darby (J.W.) of Nashville, TN passed away February 18, 2017 in Humphreys County. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Merle V. Darby; son, Randy Darby; parents, John Wilson Darby Sr. and Carrie Belle McFall.
He is survived by son, Charles (Debbie) Darby; daughter, Jan Darby (Timothy) Walls; daughter-in-law, Sandy (Alan) Birdsong; grandchildren, Brandon (Andrea), Nathen (Melissa), Kristen (Chad), Tyler (Bethany), Josh; Great-grandchildren, Caden, Dru, Eston, Alex, Carson, Darby, Brinkley, Logan, Matthew, and soon to be: Ryker.
J.W. was a man of strong faith, he was a devoted deacon at Riverside Drive Church of Christ. He was a family man who took pride in serving our country. J.W. served during WWII where he received a Purple Heart. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, and fishing. J.W. adored his four-legged, furry companion, Sparks. He touched the lives of many and will truly be missed.
A celebration of life Funeral service will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. Celebration will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11AM with Visitation prior to the service from 9AM to 11AM. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 4-8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
