John William (Jack) Gwaltney, Sr., age 77, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away unexpectedly, June 3, 2016 at his home. He was born in Nashville, TN, on August 4, 1938, to the late John Robert and Lorena Gwaltney, also of Nashville. Read Obituary
When I moved to Nashville from Chattanooga 8 years ago, John was one of the first persons I encountered at Applebee's, and we immediately hit it off. A small group of "regulars" formed and forged a bond of friendship that exists still today. John always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He was the cheerleader for a few of us when we experienced personal trials, and he also celebrated our successes. John, along with a few of the "gang" witnessed and celebrated my wedding in 2014, and I could tell that John was very happy for Linda and I. John spoke often of his beloved wife Johnnie, and it was quite clear that she was the love of his life. I'm very proud to be able to call John my friend ... a very amazing and loyal friend! Our warmest condolences to the family.
