Mr. John A. Marchetti's Obituary
UNFORGETTABLE! That’s who you were! Thousands have known you, multitudes have loved you and no one will ever forget you!
John Americo Marchetti, age 85, departed this life for his eternal home on Sept 6th, 2020 surrounded by those who loved him. Proceeded in death by his parents, Annie Corrieri Marchetti and Gino Marchetti, brother Louis Gino Marchetti and sister Rena Madelina Marchetti. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Wakefield Marchetti, children Julie Marchetti, David (Dana) Marchetti, David (Allison) Smith, Donna (Mark) Lathrope , seven grandchildren Ashley and Nick Marchetti, Joseph, Erin and Garrett Lathrope, Elijah and Matthew Smith. He leaves a very large family of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. John had a profound love for the United States of America and its military. He proudly served for 38 years in the Tennessee Air National Guard in 118th AW and Food Service. He worked for Purity Dairies for 28 years and achieved great success as a route salesman and supervisor. After leaving Purity he was employed by Wilbert and Doric Vault Company, which lead him into the funeral business. He and his wife owned and operated J & L Enterprises Excavating for 10 years. He was a loving and compassionate person as he dealt with area funeral directors and families of those who had lost loved ones. Those who knew him held him in high regard for his conscientious work ethic and his sensitivity to the needs of others. He loved being outdoors and his animals. He loved to rabbit hunt with the many beagles he owned throughout his life. His greatest joy was spending time in the mountains North Carolina where he had a vacation home for many years. Wherever John went he brought life, fun, laughter and smiles to everyone he met. He had the ability to make people forget about their troubles and brought laughter into their hearts. He is known for his generous nature and always being there to help those in need. He had a big heart and was larger than life itself. John was a life long collector of many treasures and loved anything that was antique. As his final career John had an Estate Sale Cleanup Service and the opportunity to run 31-A Auction in Lewisburg TN. He will greatly missed by those who knew him because he was ONE IN A MILLION! Truly when God made him, he threw the mold away!
