John Shannon "Jack" Long, Jr.'s Obituary
John S. “Jack” Long, Jr. age 72 of Hendersonville passed away December 27, 2012. Mr. Long was the newly elected Vice Mayor of Hendersonville and served on the Hendersonville Board of Mayor and Aldermen for 12 years. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who served his community with pride and passion. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Long; children, Shannon Blake Long, Kevin Long and Jennifer Dotson; brother-in-law, Asa Riggan; grandchildren, Danielle Long, Kelsey Dotson, Elizabeth Long, Shannon Long and Catherine Long. Active pallbearers will be Butch Davis, Rocky Brawner, Gary Alderson, Tommy McWhorter, Wade Lewis and Tracy Guthier. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Hendersonville Board of Mayor and Aldermen, Dennis Clark, Bobby Liddle, Harold Newman, Bill Pohlman and Waymon Smith. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, December 31st at 1:00 p.m. from the Hendersonville Church of Christ with Dr. Bill Ruhl officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 30th from 2-8 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Monday, December 31st from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church.
