Mr. John Edward Weatherford Jr.'s Obituary
John Edward Weatherford, Jr., 92 years old, passed away on Wednesday, May 30,
2017. Mr. Weatherford was born in Florence, Alabama and attended West End High
School. In serving as a First Lieutenant in The United States Army Air Corp during
World War II he flew 44 combat missions as a navigator on B24 bombers. He owned
and operated Weatherford Tool and Die with his father and brother before his
retirement. Mr. Weatherford will always be remembered for his love of family and
his many acts of kindness to his neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his loving family: wife Dot Weatherford and 3 daughters from his
first marriage to Margaret Olivia: Ann Depuy; Jean Eckenrode (JR); Carolyn Hatcher
(Jimmy); one brother, Kenneth Weatherford.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 7great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Olivia; son, John Edward Weatherford, III and grandson Chris Toney.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 3, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Parkway
Baptist Church in 505 Cunniff Parkway, Goodlettsville, Tennessee followed by the
service at 12:00 p.m. The Family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Hickory Hills and Avalon Hospice for their care and compassion.
