Family christmas party. We enjoyed having Wayne with us. He was always ready for a family gathering.
I knew Wayne when we worked at Northern Telecom in 1978. I introduced Brenda to him in 1982, who became his soul mate for life. They were married Nov 19, 1983. God truly blessed them with each other.
He always had a smile, quick witted and they were so funny to be around. Brenda had such an infectious laugh and his personality seemed to work for them. I loved visiting at there home and was very happy for them when they purchased a home on a dead end street, with a big yard in Mt Juliet. Wayne loved to work outside and kept the yard really neat. He was very particular and proud.
Found out years later my granddaughter's Poppy (Roger C) worked with him at Fed EX. He told me he called him "Fly Swatter" and thought a lot of him.
I told Brenda if anything happened to her I'd be his friend and stay in touch with the family. Especially, since I've known Brenda and family from age 14. I stayed in touch with Wayne. That was a blessing for us to be friends. A few years ago I made Pumpkin Rolls and would take to him and the family for Christmas. I became a tradition. I will miss my friend and even his stubborn ways. He loved his family very much and that's a true blessing from God.
