Mr. Jonathan L. "Johnny" Pemberton's Obituary
Jonathan L. “Johnny” Pemberton, 73, of Bryant, Alabama, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Nashville. Born May 4, 1949, in Long Island, Alabama, he was the son of the late Defell Pemberton and Mary Imogene Bryant Pemberton.
Jon served his country proudly in the United States Marines. He earned his Masters Degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee. Mr. Pemberton loved sports and enjoyed golfing, playing softball and baseball. He participated on a baseball travel team for 25 years. He'll also be remembered for his love of music. Jon used to sing in the church choir and loved pop, country and gospel music, especially from the 50's, 60's and 70's. He was a faithful Christian that loved the Lord. He would watch David Jeremiah (Turning Point) and Dr. Charles Stanley weekly on television.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Troy Ray Pemberton and sisters Wilma Jean Pemberton Vann, Imogene Pemberton Smith, and Linda Faye Pemberton Cross.
He is survived by his loving fiance, Ginger S. Botts; brother J.C. Pemberton; sister Peggy Joyce Pemberton Walker.
A Celebration of Johnny's Life will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time in Bryant, Alabama at the Straightway Church located at 7803 AL-73, Bryant, Alabama 35958. U.S. Marines military honors will be part of this celebration.
