Joseph Carlton Davenport, Jr.
Born February 23, 1945 – Died June 12, 2022
Joe was proceeded in death by his parents, Mary Ruth and Joseph Carlton Davenport, Sr. and his brother Michael Davenport. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ellen Heckman Davenport; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tina Davenport; step-daughter and husband, Kathryn and Jason Phillips; grandchildren, Ethan Davenport, Ivy Davenport, Landon Phillips, Britton Phillips and Cameron Phillips; Sisters-in-law, Mary De Heckman Elliston (Bill, deceased) and Amy Heckman Hostettler (deceased) and brother-in-law, Tony Hostettler; and many nieces, nephews and greats. Joe attended Metro schools and graduated from Madison High School. Joe began his work career at DuPont and retired from Irby Corporation in 2014. He was a faithful Christian. He served the community as a reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Sumner County Sheriff’s Department for many years. Joe loved movies, his TV shows, boating, his family and his friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the organization of your choice in honor and memory of Joe.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 17th, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm as well as on Saturday, June 18th, 2022 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on June 18th, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 am at Spring Hill Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
