He was born on May 10, 1957 in Nashville, TN.
Joseph “Joe” passed away in Shanghai, China from a heart attack; he was 59 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Dorothy Primm. Joe leaves behind a wonderful legacy which he was most proud of, his family; children, Stuart Primm and Mallory Primm; his siblings, Ruth Primm (James Penland), Wilson Primm (Carol Ruckman) and Elizabeth (David) Hopper; his ex-wife, Jackie Primm.
He graduated from John Overton High school and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Florida.
Joe was a spirited and ambitious entrepreneur who began his business career at the age of twelve with his own paper route. From there he went on to work in the trucking business and own his own trucking company. After selling his trucking company he went on to realize his dream of being a trader at the Chicago Board of Trade. In recent years he discovered new businesses in Tennessee, as well as China and Vietnam. He spent the last few years of his life dividing his time between the United States, Asia, and Europe. Joe was a people person who cherished his close friendships across the world and his warmth touched the lives of all he came in contact with.
Joseph's Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 5 at Brentwood United Methodist Church (309 Franklin Road Brentwood, TN 37027). Visitation will be from 10-11am and the service will begin at 11am. Burial will be held in private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Joseph Primm Memorial Fund, Holy Trinity High School, 1443 West Division Street, Chicago, IL 60642. This fund will support students interested in entrepreneurship.
