Jo, or “Mama Jo” as she was known by many, was one of the sweetest, most kind people you could ever meet. She had a gentle spirit, and what she lacked in stature, she more than made up with love. She was a devoted Christian and her faith was very important to her. She was a former member of Riverside Baptist Church and Dalewood Baptist Church, and was a current member of First Baptist Hendersonville. Jo loved children, and spent many years working in the children’s ministry at each church she attended, teaching Sunday school, volunteering for Vacation Bible School, and working in the nursery as well. Jo was a highly gifted self taught seamstress, and she loved to share that gift with everyone she could. She made most of her own clothes, curtains for all her family members, outfits for her grandbabies, and so much more. Jo was loved and cherished by all who knew her, and she will be missed dearly.
