Joyce Ann Brigham's Obituary
Joyce’s life always seemed to start and end with family, and that is right where we begin today. The love she poured into every one of us never ran dry.
Born to Paul and Ruby Dobbs, Joyce grew up knowing the power of hard work and humility. Those early lessons shaped the woman who would later hold our world together.
She married Don Brigham, and their home soon became the warm hub where everyone felt seen and safe. Together they raised Michael Lillard and Ashley Griffith, and there was never any doubt that Mom was, as we all agree, “the BEST mother all around.”
Joyce’s joy showed up in simple pleasures: a fresh crossword puzzle, cheering for the Vols or the Titans, a friendly game at the kitchen table, or relaxing with a margarita in hand. These small moments told big truths about how she found happiness in everyday life.
Hardworking, humble, supportive, and resilient—those four words truly fit her. She met life’s highs and lows with the same steady heart that made us trust everything would be okay.
Joyce is survived by her son Michael, her daughter Ashley, and her treasured grandchildren Katlyn, Kayla, Lakelyn, and MJ. She also leaves her brother Jerry Dobbs and her sister Janice Cleveland to share memories and laughter in her honor.
She now joins her parents Paul and Ruby, her husband Don, and her sisters Judy Latimore and Jackie Dobbs in rest. Knowing she is with them brings comfort even as we miss her here.
We will carry Joyce’s spirit forward every time we tackle a crossword clue, toast with a margarita, or cheer on the Vols and Titans. Thank you, Joyce, for showing us how strong love can be; we will keep that lesson close always.
