Mrs. Joyce Birdsong Dickman's Obituary
Mrs. Joyce Birdsong Dickman, 75, a resident of Madison died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Centennial Medical Center.
The Giles County, Tennessee native was the daughter of the late Robert Malcolm and Mary Ann Abernathy Birdsong. She was a communicant and very active in the affairs of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener and cook having been proud of her heritage as a “good old country girl”. For the past 6 years she had been a patient at Fresenius Medical Care (Dialysis) where through fellowship with other patients made many new friends.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond K. Dickman, which quoted, “God put angels on this earth and I was priviledged to marry one”; a sister, Mary Catherine Kinnie; a brother, James Robert (Sharon) Birdsong; several nieces and nephews; 2 brother-in-laws, Ron Dickman and Jim (Diane) Dickman. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul Dickman. Special thanks to Cindy, Cathey, Theresa, and Deacon Gordon McBride.
A Celebration of life Ceremony will be conducted Friday, June 27, 2014 at 10:00AM at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery Serenity Mausoleum with Father Ed Steiner officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00PM until 7:00 at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Memorials may be made to St Joseph Catholic Church or American Kidney Foundation.
