She spent her life as a devoted mother, wife and caretaker of her late husband for 46 years. She loved her family more than life itself. Being a lifelong member of Old Hickory United Methodist Church. One of her many hobbies were collecting recipes. There was nothing that she couldn’t cook. In 1973 The Tennessean headlined her as a compulsive cook and featured her picture along with some of her favorite recipes. She was always inviting friends and family for dinner. She did so much good with her cooking, brightening many homes not only at Christmas but all year. She loved making homemade vegetable soup, fudge pie and banana bread. Juanita also enjoyed making crafts of all kinds with her late friends Virginia Liles and Ann Shaffer. She loved Old Hickory and Dupont High School where, in the fall of 1950, she went to work as a secretary. She worked for 8 different principals during her 36 years at the school. Retiring in the spring of 1986. And that year, the school dedicated homecoming and the annual to her. Everyone loved “Juanita”. Whether you called her Juanita, Miss Juanita, Aunt Juanita, Mrs. McCauley, Mother or Mama, know that she will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. The family wishes to thank Marcella Ray and Dorthey Kaiss for their constant love and care the past 6 months and also for her family at Park Place Retirement Community in Hendersonville.
