It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Judith Andrews on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022, in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Judy was born on February 21st, 1946 in Clarksville, Tennessee to musicians Robert Clinard and Evelyn Phipps Clinard. Her mother played the piano in one band, and her father was the trombone player in a band he managed where Boots Randolph was also a member. She was the oldest of four children, who are all musically inclined. All four could "hear" harmony and often sang together as a family in churches all over middle Tennessee and Kentucky.
Judy began working when she was nine years old standing on a box in her father’s store. She eventually attended Austin Peay State University, double majoring in accounting and English. She married her high school sweetheart and was married for 8 years during which time her only child, Mary Evelyn, was born. Judy wore many hats and was a jack of all trades, and after many years, she took her "dream job" working for Regel Textile Corporation in Atlanta as a merchandise manager and planning coordinator. After some time, she moved back to Nashville to begin a second career in the medical field while raising her family. Judy also served as a secretary at Washington Manufacturing Co. and Tusculum Hills Baptist Church, where she worked with the recreation ministry, senior adults, and catered the weekly meal. She often enjoyed catering weddings and other special events and loved to put her touch on all occasions. When not hard at work, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, sewing, writing, playing music, and reading.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Mary Evelyn Steward (Richard); grandchildren Hannah Steward and Richard “Chip” Steward III (Julie); great-granddaughter Suzie May Steward; brothers Robert Micheal Clinard (Patty) of Jacksonville, FL, and Dr. Karl Clinard (Tara) of Somerset, KY; sister Pam Luginbuhl (Stu) of Louisville, KY; many nieces and nephews; her former husband Jerry Wayne Denton; and a large host of friends.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation on Friday, September 9th, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place after visiting hours at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, "Where Nashville Comes to Remember."
