Karen your journey here is over and have many friends and family to praise your life and mourn your passing. I shared something with another cousin who lost his father last month, it's always harder on those of us who are left with the emptiness and as a ship leaving the shore we strain to hold on to them saying there they go but on the other side there are those like your family who have gone before, saying her she comes, here she comes. Karen was a valued Associate of the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana. I was blessed to gather with her in a group where we studied how to follow a Franciscan way of life ourselves. I know that was her deepest desire. From her new vantage point, I know she can help us all to live faithful lives. It's ironic that she moved from a home convenient to the Franciscans to a home near her sister so she could support her during her illness. Now she is the one we have lost--but not really. I have sent a memorial gift to the Sisters in her honor.

Karen grew up in Franklin, KY where the family was a vital part of St. Mary's parish.
All five family members were willing to use their individual talents and love of the
Catholic faith to contribute to many projects, including John the father who was not
a Catholic. I was impressed by the cohesiveness of the family. Karen was a devout
and prayerful young woman, an eager-to-learn student in CCD classes, and unafraid
to testify to the Catholic faith. She cultivated and applied her God-given talents throughout her life, as her obituary reveals. I send my love and prayers to her beloved sister Terri and all the family members. Joann Pais Bradford

Karen was a wonderful friend and colleague at St. Mary of the Seven Sorrows. She taught me the true meaning of selfless love and charity. Before I retired in September of 2016, she took me out to dinner to one of my favorite Nashville restaurants. I remember she asked me to look for Franciscans in Mexico-where I now live. I’m happy that I honored her wish because I found The church if St. Francis. Karen and I spoke throughout these last two years and I am grief stricken by her loss. May she rest in the gentle peace of Our Lord.

Karen is an amazing lady! I had the great honor of meeting her through Holy Rosary Church, me being the secretary here. She has really taught me so much and and had so much faith in me and encouraged me strongly through some rough times. She is going to be missed terribly!! Such a huge void in the Diocese of Nashville and to everyone she knew and loved. She had such a beautiful soul and sweetness about her, like no other. I will always love her and will always remember her love and kindness towards me!!

Karen was the epitome of a true lady. She was thoughtful, kind, and loving. One memory that is so special to me was after my sister died, she sent a tree to be planted in her memory. A few years later I sent her a picture of its beauty and thanked her again for her thoughtfulness. Just one of her many acts of kindness to those who knew and loved her.
