Mrs. Katherine Buchanan's Obituary
Katherine Buchanan of Madison, TN died peacefully on October 10, 2013 at the age of 90 years. She was the youngest of ten children born to Gentry and Mattie Gregory in Robertson County. She graduated from Dupont High School and worked for many years as the beloved “Mrs. B”, secretary at Neely’s Bend Junior High. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband of 49 years, former Councilman Raymond B. Buchanan, three children: Raymond A. Buchanan (Billie), Barbara Norris (Jimmy), Sherry Kay Buchanan and one grandson, Michael Buchanan. She is survived by her son, Ronald B. Buchanan (Vicki), her beloved friend, Ernest (Jack) Sircy and six grandchildren: Rod Buchanan, Karen Reeves (Scott), Tamara Campbell (Chris), Amy Reid, Keri Pockrandt (Zane), David Norris (Erika) and ten great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Foster-Hayes Sunday School Class at City Road Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 14th at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, October 12th from 4-7 P.M., Sunday, October 13th from 1-3 and 5-7 P.M. and Monday from 10 A.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at City Road Chapel United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
