Ms. Katherine Draper Mobley's Obituary
Katherine Draper Mobley, age 79 of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, passed away on January 16, 2016. She was born on March 3, 1936 in Carthage, Tennessee to the late Ernest and Mattie Holliman. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.
Her family recalls that Katherine (also known as “Kit,” “Kat,” and “Kathy”) was a wonderful, loving, and giving person. Selfless and kind, Katherine was an excellent role model for her four children. Faith and family were the cornerstones of Katherine’s life. She was a member of New Life Church in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Many of the family’s most cherished memories were centered around the dinner table. Katherine loved to cook, and was known for her fudge, dressing, and incomparable spaghetti. She opened up her home for the holidays, and the family had many gatherings during those special times. She also had folks over for a fish fry every Friday night. Everyone was welcome at Kathy’s house.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by two husbands and one sister. She is survived by her children, Jeff Colgate, Bonnie Castillo (Richard), Jennifer Rudd (Robert), and Rhonda Gower (Wayne); sister, Georgia Pulley; grandchildren, Chris Massey, Craig Massey, Jessica Cain, Jodie Gower, Chassity Belsky, Claudia Rudd, and Maleah Churchwell; and nineteen great-grandchildren; as well as many friends and extended family, all of whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, from 12pm until 8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Katherine’s Funeral will take place immediately following Thursday’s visitation, at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Y-North Garden at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.
