Ms. Katherine Anna Meyer Wood "Tootsie"'s Obituary
Katherine “Tootsie” Wood, 81, of Nashville, TN passed away on Monday, September 4th, 2023. She was born on April 9, 1942 in Nashville. She was the daughter of the late Otto and Josephine Meyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Vicki Wood. She is survived by her brother Charles Meyer (Judy). Daughters Kathy Wood, Amy Jarrell (Chris), and Danielle Wood, as well as 3 grandchildren.
Katherine or as she was affectionately called by all those that loved her, Tootsie, was an avid baker. Anyone that ever had her cakes (or really anything she baked) said they were the best! She also loved babies, Elvis, music (especially rock and roll), the ocean, birds, and wildlife. Taking care of people was her specialty. She was truly the epitome of “to know her is to love her.”
The family of Katherine invites friends and relatives to join them to celebrate her life, share fond memories and visit with them on Wednesday, September 13th from 4p to 8p. Graveside Service on Thursday, September 14th at 2:45p. Line up at 2:30p for procession to gravesite. Visitation and Burial will be at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 5110 Gallatin Pike South, Nashville, TN 37216. (615) 865-1101.
