Mr. Kenneth Storrs' Obituary
Kenneth Harold Storrs died June 21, 2018 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in 1941 in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Harold and Dorothy Storrs. Graduating from Isaac Litton High School in Nashville, Ken received a Bachelor’s degree and multiple Master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee, in addition to extensive post-Masters studies.
Ken served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War. Trained as a respiratory therapist, Ken worked in that field for many years, serving as a President of the Tennessee Lung Association and establishing the Allied Health Diagnostic Program at Chattanooga State Technical Community College, where he also taught. He was appointed Associate Professor of History at Chattanooga State, teaching history right up to his final illness and rounding out forty years of service at the college. He loved books and teaching and aspired to remain in his class room until the end.
Ken is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn King Storrs. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Storrs. A private burial service will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.
