Kristina "Kristy" Miller's Obituary
A Bright Salute to the Life of Kristina "Kristy" Lynn Jones Miller
March 2nd, 1974 – December 28th, 2025
“Loved her whole family more than herself.”
We celebrate the beautiful life of Kristy, who was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and passed peacefully on December 28, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville with family and friends surrounding her. From her first breath to her final moment, Kristy filled every day with grit, humor, and heart.
Resilient, determined, confident, hardworking, and kind, Kristy was “a stoic pair of khaki pants that swore like a sailor.” Her love for the outdoors, all creatures with two or four legs, and—most of all—wolves reflected the strength of her Native American heritage. She met challenges head-on and wore her spirited nature with pride.
Home for Kristy was a lively showcase of her one-of-a-kind style, matched only by her perfection of mac and cheese and turtle cake. Whether planning the next vacation or cheering on loved ones, she made every gathering feel special and fun.
Family meant everything to Kristy. She is cherished by her father Joseph “Russ” Jones, sister Catherine “Yvonne” Jones, daughters Destiny Tatchell, Breanna (Christian) Miller Garrett, Branda “B” Maynard, son Amani Miller, grandchildren Ayden Tatchell, Allie Tatchell, Kale Brown, Alaina Tatchell, Nori Dickerson, Ashton Tatchell, August Torres, and Neoma Bolinger. Each of them carries forward her fierce love and unwavering support. She was welcomed by her mom, Peggy Jones, grandparents, and numerous others.
The family sends heartfelt thanks to Louise Hanson, Dara Dixon, Jeanell Wade, Suzy Hansen, Rose Hearn, Shatika Ballard, Carla Campbell, Morris Brown, and the faculty/staff of VSH, whose care and friendship brightened Kristy’s journey. Special gratitude goes to Lorraine and Aristedes Torres, who loved her like the daughter they never had.
Today, we choose joy as we remember Kristy’s bold spirit, her quick wit, and her boundless love. Her legacy lives on in every laugh around a kitchen table, on the front porch, or poolside and every meal surrounded by loved ones.
