Larry J. Dunn, 69, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Born May 2, 1953, in New Albany, Indiana, he was the son of the late Joseph Lee and Elsie Evora McClellan Dunn.
Larry was the youngest of 11 boys. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a long haul truck driver, and would later go to work for the tree division of Nashville Metro Parks where he would eventually retire from. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. Larry would tell you that he loved shopping for antiques, but his family questioned whether a lot of the things he bought were actually ‘antique’. One of his favorite pastimes was cutting the lawns for people in his neighborhood. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be missed dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Billie Dunn; brothers Don, Dean, Glenn, Arnold, Raymond, Ronnie and Paul Dunn.
He is survived by his daughters Juanita (Jeremy) Taylor and Kathleen (Eric Sr.) Epheriam; brothers Vernon (Marilyn) Dunn, Bobby Dunn, and Jerry “Red” Dunn; grandchildren Donovan Epheriam, Catherine Taylor, Eric Epheriam, Jr., and Eriana Epheriam; his fur baby Tiny; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm on Monday, November 7 at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service officiated by Chaplain Mona Barz will take place on Tuesday, November 8 at 12 pm noon. There will be visitation two hours prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and Dr. Todd Bauer of Tennessee Oncology as well as the staff at Alive Hospice.
