Mr. Larry Eugene Foxall's Obituary
Larry E. Foxall, 74, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his home. He was born on November 20, 1945 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Joseph Norwood Foxall and Myrtle Nipper Foxall.
Larry graduated from Cohn High School in 1963 and was active in the Cohn High School Black Knights Alumni Group. He later graduated from Peabody College with a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s Degree in Education. He taught in Sumner County for over 30 years, starting in Gallatin and eventually moving to Hendersonville where he primarily taught 5th grade at Wessington Place Elementary School. For 30 years he taught during the day and on nights and weekends he was a jack of all trades for Kroger. He was an avid traveler who visited all 50 states with his beloved wife, Rosemary, and had begun traveling internationally. He was Treasurer for the AARP, and drove for Meals on Wheels. Larry was also a big supporter of Vanderbilt University Athletics. He was an active member at Hendersonville Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Janet Rosemary Foxall in 2011; brother Odie Foxall in 2017; sister Audrey Sutton in 2019; and his nephew Randy Roberts in 2017.
He is survived by his children Kimberly (Ed) Williams and Dennis (Amber) Foxall; sister Patsy (John) Apple; grandchildren Leissa Rich, Kelsey Gaither, Elizabeth Foxall, Justin (Holly) Williams and Kim Williams; sister-in-laws Peggy Foxall, and Geraldine ‘Dean Dean’ (Tommy) Douglas; brother-in-law Dwaine Lovingood; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 14 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Duane Harris will take place on Saturday, February 15 at 10 AM with the family accepting friends and visitors an hour prior to services. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
