Lecha Faulkner of Madison, TN passed away on July 19, 2019 in Davidson County. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ulyess and Margarie Falkner. She is survived by her loving companion, Barry Ledford; son, Tony (Tammy) Edging Read Obituary
I first met Lecha when she came to work for me at Austin‘s Hallmark in 1992. At that time Tony was a little boy. Over the years we did so many things to gather, went so many places and had so much fun. We went places that I would never have experienced if she hadn’t been so adventuresome. I remember one summer (can’t remember the year) that Lecha and Mada went on our family vacation to Bay City, Michigan with me. Me and Mada would walk the street my aunt lived on and sing Southern rock songs at the top of our lungs and Lecha I guess was too embarrassed to hang with us so she spent the week hanging with the”old” people. Good times.
I have so many memories of being with my Sister-Cousin one in particular that Tony probably has not even thought about is here trips to Alabama to eat at Lloyd's Restaurant and she ate those Onion Rings with Mustard of All things !!!! also going to Vandiver just to go upon the mountain that overlooks Vandiver on one side and Dunnavant on the other side where that solid rock that she and our cousin used to go and sit and just talk about everything when they were teens, for someone who was Afraid of Heights!!! She and decided one day while she was down to go to our Aunt Lilla McDonald's funeral that we would get up and go visit Birmingham's Iron Man-Vulcan, so here we get on the elevator and I get off at the top and she had jumped back on because where they had re-done the floor on top where you could over look Birmingham it had a mesh floor and you could see the ground!!!! I did not know she was afraid of heights till then you would think that anyone who loved the mountains as much as she did it would not bother her!!! There are so may memories of her visiting Alabama all the Falkner Klan and me going to Nashville to visit Her, Tony, Mada ,Uncle Calvin & Aunt Margie especially since 1984 before Tony was born until now we have a had a great time taking pictures, swapping flower seeds and all kinds of arts & crafts, she is really going to be missed by myself and all that knew her and Nashville, Tn. has lost a great Tour Guide she knows Nashville, Tn. like to back of her hand and all that has happened up here since she was old enough to remember especially since she has worked with just about every Touring Company up here and if she found out that you were from Alabama she was going to find out exactly where you were from in Alabama and how close you were to her's & our Daddy's stumping ground!!! Same way about if she ran into the Country Music Stars she would start a conversation with them and they would go away as if the had known her all of their lives. Lecha Faulkner, You are going to be missed by me and all that knew you!!!! I am sad that she is gone on but at least she didn't have to suffer long and as she would tell me when I was sick "You Don't Want Me to Come Down There and Get You well I Came up There To Get Her But she was too sick for me to do that. i love you and will see You on the other side Cuz!!!
Lecha and I would visit almost every morning at the Resort where I worked. She would crack me up telling about all the lunatics downtown and the crazies that got on her bus. She was always showing me her wreaths & trying to teach me how to do them. She gave me my smile for the day. I will really miss her. Debbie Lormand
There are so many memories that I could think of over the last 50 years plus there is not enough paper to put them on! She was the best tour guide Nashville, Tn. had and she knew her way around everywhere and all of the star's homes and if she ran into the out in public she would speak to them and start a conversation with them and before they parted company they thought that they had been friends forever! I know that I am going to miss that voice and all the calls we made back & forth keeping up with each other's lives, she always would tell me when I was sick from the chemo & radiation with the breast cancer and I felt like I just wanted to give up and die she would say "Don't let me have to come down there and get You !!!!!" Well I felt the same about her but when I came to visit her on June 29th just a few weeks ago and I knew that would probably be the last time I would see her on this side of Heaven but I would not say anything about how bad she looked or how bad she must be feeling because I know she was in a bad way nor did I want to take any pictures of us that day because I wanted to keep her comfortable and not have to worry about any of the other relatives or friends seeing just how bad she felt and looked. we loved each other like Sisters and could talk about anything that come to mind and I have an Angel she made for me that is pink to reflect the Breast Cancer Ribbon as well as an afghan and 2 little angels that look like sisters whispering to each other that I shall cherish forever. So Long my Sister Cousin and I will see you on the other side where we will not be hurting and more and tell all our relatives & friends hello for me and give Uncle Calvin & Aunt Margie a hug for me!
