Mrs. Lela May Pons-Greer's Obituary
Lela May Pons-Greer, age 94 of Gallatin, passed away on December 27, 2013. Mrs. Pons-Greer was born March 9, 1919 to the late James Brinkley and Laura Bell Parker. Mrs. Pons-Greer loved tending to her flowers, cooking, and fishing on Old Hickory Lake. She is preceded in death by her parents; spouses Donald L. Pons and W.G. Greer; daughter, Dorthy Pons; brother, Walter Brinkley; sister, Sophia Hannah; and great-granddaughter, Kimberly Midgette. Mrs. Pons-Greer is survived by her sons, Donald L. (Sue) Pons and William “Mickey” (Barbara) Pons; stepson, Bobby Greer; stepdaughter, Debra Crawford; sister, Mildred Hall; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Pons-Greer will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 12PM, from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home, with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating. Interment will follow in historic Spring Hill Cemetery, with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 30, 2013, from 2PM to 8PM. The family would like to thank the staff at Morningside Assisted Living in Gallatin, as well as the third-floor staff at Hendersonville Medical Center, for their care and support.
