Mr. Lenord H. "Smitty" Smith's Obituary
Lenord H. “Smitty” Smith, age 83 of Hendersonville, Tennessee, formerly of Jamestown, Tennessee, passed away at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Smith was born on November 11, 1936 to the late Andrew Martin Smith and the late Bessie Marie Smith.
Lenord “Smitty” Smith worked for Nashville Electric Service for 35 years. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He was a member of Jamestown Masonic Lodge for 50 years, Hendersonville Masonic Lodge, Al Menah Shrine, Scottish Rite, Gallatin Gun Club, and the National Rifle Association.
He loved his wife Nellie “Lounell” of 56 years and his two children Mark and Christy, hunting, watching University of Tennessee Football and basketball, going to their country home in Jamestown, Tennessee with his wife Nellie “Lounell.” He loved his grandchildren Rachel Courtney Smith, Keighley Grace Hazlewood, bonus grandchildren Amber and Nathan Goins, his great-grandchildren Brayden, Brodie, and Braxton.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Nellie “Lounell” Easterly Smith, daughter Christy Hazlewood (Chris), sister Lorene Staguer, brother Elza A. Smith, James B. Smith (Wanda).
He is preceded in death by his son Christopher Mark Smith - United States Marine, sister Dorothy McMahan, Stella Harvey, Anne Christene Smith, Nellie Stack, Elmer Smith - United States Army.
Visitation for Lenord H. “Smitty” Smith will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Spring Hill Funeral Home from 5-8pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2019 at 1pm with Brother Bruce Chesser and Brother Jeff Lake of Hendersonville Baptist Church. Burial in the Veteran’s Garden of Historic Spring Hill Cemetery to follow.
Pallbearers are Rick Clouse, Brian Clouse, Scott Wales, Nathan Goins, Troy Ryan, Keith Whitley, Sherwin Harvey, Phillip Harvey, Jimmy Smith, and Johnnie Stagner. Honorary pallbearers will are the Nashville Electric Service Fleet Department.
Special Sister in laws, Sue Wales, Brenda Legge (Bobby), Kay Clouse (Don), special friends Missy Singer and Laura Vick.
