Leon Douglas' Obituary
Leon Douglas of Nashville, TN passed away on August 18, 2017 in Davidson County. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles S. Douglas.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Douglas; sons, Kevin (Darlene) Douglas, Darryl (Sheila) Douglas, daughters, Darla Douglas, Dana (Bob) McDowell, Mickey (Jay) Bryan, Bretina Douglas; his grandsons Derek, Kevin, Tyler, Landon, Timmy and Noah; granddaughters Rachael, Tomasina, Hannah, Emily, Clara, and Paige, his 7 great-grandchildren; mother, Dorothy Douglas; sister, Sharon (Dave) Henschen; brother, Kent Douglas.
Leon was a very accomplished singer, entertainer, and musician. He played at the Grand Ole Opry with Cousin Jody in the 1960’s. Leon was a member of the WWVA Jamboree for 30 years. Leon appeared on shows with many well-known artists, such as Marty Robbins, Mel Tillis, Merle Haggard, George Jones, and many others.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 4-8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 1pm with a two hour visitation prior at Spring Hill Funeral home. Service to be officiated by Heath Pickard, of Jackson Park Church of Christ.
