Mr. Leroy Lyle's Obituary
Mr. Leroy Lyle died unexpectedly on September 28, 2017 in Nashville, TN at the age of 71.
Leroy is survived by his siblings, Joseph and Lester Lyle also if Nashville, nephew Shaka Hill, and nieces Tish and Jana Lyle, devoted great nephew Mubarick and a host of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jake and Susie Lyle.
He graduated from Tennessee State University with a Master's in Education. He began his professional career in Nashville, working for Metropolitan Davidson Board of Education as an Educator. In 2007, he was recognized as Teacher of the Year by Metropolitan Nashville Educators Association. After a period of 26 years of dedicated service to educating the children of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools the esteemed teacher retired in order to devote more time to his family, more importantly, maintaining the care of his mother.
Leroy was a generous and witty individual who was passionate about changing the world through education one young mind at a time. Family and friends will remember Leroy as a kind, gentle, patient service driven person who encouraged young minds to explore limitless possibilities when pursuing their goals.
A Memorial is scheduled for Monday October 9th, 2017 at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. 5110 Gallatin Road Nashville TN 37216 with burial to follow in the same location. Rev. Edward Sanders will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Leroy's life. Please send all condolences, flowers, and donations sent to Spring Hill Funeral Home.
