Mrs. Lillian Allie Draper Fitzgerald's Obituary
Lillian Allie Draper Fitzgerald, age 91, formally from Jackson County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 03, 2017. Lillian is preceded in death by her father, Dow Draper; her mother and step-father, Allie Mae Stephens Thompson (Jim); her husband, William Marion Fitzgerald; and one brother William Richard Draper. She is survived by her three sons; James R. Fitzgerald (Kay), Richard Fitzgerald (Marie), William M. Fitzgerald II (Karen); one daughter, Jo Lynda Watts (Roland); five grandchildren, Travis Foster (Sarah), Cari Allen (Keenan), James Chadwell Fitzgerald (Jennifer), Drew Fitzgerald, and Beth Wright (Kevin); eight great-grandchildren, Michael Foster, Ari Foster, Olivia Foster, Branch Foster, Ava James Fitzgerald, Harper Fitzgerald, Austin Fitzgerald, and Evan Wright; one nephew, Ronnie Draper. A longtime resident of the Dalewood/Inglewood neighborhood, Lillian will best be remembered for her love of gardening and winning the Davidson County City Beautiful Award in 1986 for her creative yard garden. She was an excellent seamstress, avid reader, wonderful cook, and loved studying rock formations and the stars. She was competitive in cards games, enjoyed crossword puzzles and other word games, and was especially successful winning at Chinese Checkers. She was always wanting to learn more about the world around her. We are grateful for her life as she was the spring in our dad’s step, the sunshine in his day, and just the “bee’s knees” to him.
