Mrs. Lillian H. Buie McDonald's Obituary
Lillian Buie McDonald passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Lakeshore Heartland in Donelson where she had resided for approximately 2 1/2 years. Born in Nashville, she attended public school and graduated from East nashville High School. Most of her professional career she worked at The Baptist Sunday School Board - now Lifeway Christian Resources.
She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years serving as an officer at East Nashville Chapter No. 1 and was appointed a Grand Officer for the state in 1980. Before her health declined she was an active member of Woodmont Baptist Church and a member of the adult choir. Her passion was decorating for luncheons, dinners and other church functions.
She is preceded in death by husband Leslie L. Buie and Claudie L. McDonald and sisters Eleanor Mai Hendricks and Edna W. Mason. She is survived by son Larry Buie; Nieces, Gaile Helzer (Pearl) and Lillian Whitworth (Herschel) and nephew Lynn Hendricks.
Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, at which time a Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be conducted from the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery with Pastor Richard Dickerson of Woodmont Baptist Church. Burial will be at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, A Nashville Landmark since 1785 "Where Nashville Comes to Remember".
