Linda Gayle Fulghum DePriest's Obituary
Linda Gayle DePriest -Age 81 passed away Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022. Born in Nashville, Tennessee October 19th, 1940.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Gladys Fulghum.
Gayle was raised in Inglewood and established her Christian foundation attending Inglewood Baptist Church. She attended Dan Mills school and Isaac Litton High School.
Gayle attended Samford prior to graduating from the Peabody School for Teachers. She taught at Stratford High School.
She never lost her love for teaching but becoming a mother changed everything. Raising her children and loving her family were her passion over all else. Gayle was a devoted wife caring for her husband until she became sick. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, true friend, and champion of the underdog.
Mrs. DePriest leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Wilton C. DePriest; daughter, Ashley DePriest (Mark Mascolo); sons, Brent DePriest (Janice) and Chris DePriest; Grandchildren, Christian, Katie and Ella. She leaves many friends, the many lives she touched at Pugh's Pharmacy where she had her gift shop, neighbors and church family.
The family wishes to thank the many friends that have supported us through this process. Special thanks to the Flamingo Girls: Beverly, Elaine, Linda, Margaret, Nancy and Sharon and also Janie who preceded her to heaven. Thank you to Dana Thrasher for keeping her looking like Miss Gayle.
We wish to thank Robert C. Pilkinton MD for always keeping an eye out for Mom while she spent years caring for Dad.
Thank you to the amazing caregivers at Belmont Village and especially to Christie H., director. This team helped us give Mom a fighting chance against dementia while preserving her dignity, grace and sparkle to the very end.
Services will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, Tennessee. Visitation on Friday, 25th of March from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, 26th from 9:00 a.m. until11:00 a.m. Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Family burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
