Lisa Kae Lewallen's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Miss Lisa Kae Lewallen on May 2nd, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 66 years old.
Lisa was born on October 16th, 1956, in Lebanon, Indiana to George Rowlet Lewallen and Patricia Ann Carr Lewallen. Her disabilities never stopped her from living a fulfilling and joyous life. She was known for her friendly and sweet personality, always greeting everyone she met with a smile and a warm embrace. Her ability to make friends wherever she went was one of her most admirable qualities, and she will be deeply missed by all those who were lucky enough to have known her.
Lisa won multiple awards during the Indiana Special Olympics, showcasing her strength and determination to never give up. She won a gold medal for completing the 50-yard dash in 1974 and earned several ribbons and accolades for softball throw. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and her legacy will live on through her achievements.
Lisa had a sincere love for music. She loved to sing along to her favorite songs and always had a song in her heart, her favorite being “Truly, Madly, Deeply” by Savage Garden. She was deeply fascinated with the weather report, and would listen intently to any updates, often sharing her knowledge with anyone who would listen. She even had the opportunity to meet famed Tennessee meteorologist Lisa Spencer!
Lisa was a strong-willed and persistent woman, and this was evident in everything she did. She never gave up on her dreams, and always pursued them with a fierce determination. She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved fur baby Shaggy Marie. She had a special bond with animals, and they were drawn to her kind and gentle nature. She will be missed by all the furry friends she made along the way.
Lisa is survived by her parents, George and Patricia Lewallen; siblings Marty Lewallen (Valerie Huaco), Jeffrey Thomas Lewallen (Lisa Jo), Melanie Lewallen Claybrooks, and Lynne Romano (Mitchel); special friend Ronnie Whitt; aunts and uncles Marrianne Lewallen, Reverend William and Cindy Carr, Robert and Sandy Carr, and Doctors Kay and Daniel Friedman; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
The family cordially invites friends and relatives for a time of visitation on Sunday, May 7th, 2023 from four o’clock in the evening until seven o’clock in the evening, and on Monday, May 8th, 2023 from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until two o’clock in the afternoon, with a chapel service at two o’clock in the afternoon and burial to follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216.
