Loraine Kenney Gearty's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Our Beloved Loraine.
July 12, 1948 to February 12, 2025
Our hearts are heavy as we share the passing of our cherished mother, wife, grandmother and friend, Loraine Kenney Gearty. Born on July 12, 1948, in Brighton, MA, Loraine filled our lives with love, laughter and a touch of endearing stubbornness that we will forever cherish.
As a "mom to all", Loraine embraced everyone with open arms and a loving heart. She was the rock of our family always there with a smile and a word of encouragement. Her favorite saying, "My way or the highway", perfectly captured her spirited nature and stubbornness.
Loraine worked at Yankee Candles as a salesclerk, where she worked for 20 years and became memorialized with her own red brick.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 55 years, David Gearty; her children, Leslie Girten and David Gearty III; and her adored grandchildren, Jeremy (Emily), Alex (Jamie), Jordan (Destiny) and Becca; and three great-grandchildren. Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Grace Kenney; and her sister, Carolyn. We find comfort in knowing they are reunited now. We will miss her dearly and hold her memory close to our hearts forever.
In honor of Loraine, please make donations to Alzheimer's Association - https://act.alz.org/site/Donation.
