Mr. Loran Thomas Roden's Obituary
Mr. Loran Thomas Roden, Sr., of Goodlettsville, TN Age 78 was called to be with the Lord on December 21st. His parents Charles J. and Ella Mae McClellan Roden precede him in death. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Peggy Roden, children Tommy Roden and Kate Roden Perry (Kevin), sisters Charlotte Payne Rainwater (Doug) and Diana Gardner Thornton (Michael), and grandchildren Maggie, Louise, and Ruth Perry, and Caroline and Kelly Roden. Loran is saved by Jesus Christ, was retired after 40+ years from Genesco Corp. and a member of 1st Baptist Church of Hendersonville. He was kind, loving, generous and loyal to his family and friends with whom he loved spending time, playing games or fishing. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 23rd 4-8PM and Wednesday, December 24th 10-11AM with a Celebration of Life service to follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Madison with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating. (www.springhillfh.com) Pallbearers will be Frazier Solomon, Charles Williams, Kelly Roden, Steve Payne, Bobby Hooper, Dave Gomer, and Bryant Bradley. Honorary pallbearers are members of the “Card Club” and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of 1st Baptist Church Hendersonville at 106 Bluegrass Commons Blvd., Hendersonville, TN 37075 or to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Research through PearlPoint Cancer Support, 310 25th Avenue North, Suite 103, Nashville, TN 37203.
