Loretta M. Houdeshell, 80, of Greenbrier, Tennessee, passed away on March 10, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born March 3, 1944, in Nashville, Tennessee to Arden and Gladys Nichols, Sr.
She is predeceased by her parents, Arden Nichols, Sr. and Gladys (née Grimes) Nichols, and brother, Arden Nichols, Jr.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are, husband, Leighton Houdeshell, daughter Vickie Lynn Elmore, and stepdaughter, Kimberly Dawes, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Loretta’s passion for life was deeply intertwined with the serene beauty of the lakes. She found immense joy spending time on their family boats, bass fishing alongside her husband, Leighton. Together, they explored the local waters of Old Hickory Lake, Kentucky Lake, and other southern gems in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Loretta’s skill as a fisher was unmatched, and she often reeled in the biggest catches, leaving lasting memories for all who shared those tranquil moments with her.
In honoring Loretta’s memory, we celebrate her love for family, her zest for life, and the legacy she leaves behind. May she rest in peace, forever casting her line into the waters of our hearts.
