Mr. Louis Ellsworth Wright's Obituary
Mr. Louis Ellsworth Wright, age 88 of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023. He was born on April 19, 1934 in Winnsboro, South Carolina to the late Arthur and Florence Bloomfield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children Dora Wright, second wife Sadira Wright, his twin brother Leo, brother Lincoln, sisters Florence and Doris, son Thomas “Tommy” Wright, grandchildren Holli Jones, Eli Sherrill, and Brandi Rhoton, and niece Kimmie. He is survived by his children Tammy Hall (Ronnie Sr.), Timothy “Timmy” Wright, and Tina Jones, his sister Loretta, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Louis lived a very full life. As a child of the Great Depression, he knew the value of working hard and earning what you have. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, as well as a Good Conduct Medal for his service. He was very proud of his time in the Air Force, and loved to share stories of his times working on the engines of bomber planes mid-flight while under fire. He was a musician most of his life, singing and playing guitar. This was a passion he shared with his twin brother Leo, as the two of them were always side by side in everything they did. He made many friends in the music industry, and was very successful. By day, he was a window washer, and enjoyed climbing up to high buildings and leaning out to clean the windows. Perhaps it reminded him of the thrill of being high in the air aboard his old Air Force planes.
Louis was at times a very private and stern person and when he was trying to get a point across, he was notorious for coming in close, and saying “Read. My. Lips.” and when you heard that, you knew he meant business. However, just as much as he was stern and tough, he was twice as kindhearted and protective as a father, uncle, brother, and grandfather. He loved his children deeply and referred to them as his “Four Aces.” He had a great sense of humor and could take a joke just as well as he could dish one out. He loved football, and was a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans. He was passionate about the sport, and made sure to never miss a football game in which his grandson was playing. Louis was loved deeply and will be sorely missed.
