Lynda Searcy's Obituary
Our cherished Lynda, the rock of our family, passed away on March 25, 2025, in Nashville, TN after a long illness. Born on June 11, 1945, in Cornersville, TN, she filled our lives with warmth, laughter, and unending love.
Lynda was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who treasured every moment with her family. She doted on her grandchildren, spoiling them with hugs and affection, always reminding us with her favorite phrase, "I love you more." Holidays were her special way of reuniting us all, and her home was filled with the comforting aromas of her famous chicken and dumplings and unforgettable cornbread dressing.
She had a zest for life that was contagious. She found joy in shopping trips and cherished time spent with friends and family. Her garden was her sanctuary, where she lovingly tended to her plants, nurturing them as she did all of us.
Recently, Lynda discovered a passion for Rummikub, spending hours honing her skills and delighting in friendly competitions. She also enjoyed moments on her iPad, especially with games like Candy Crush, reminding us that fun has no age limit.
Her supportive, empathetic, and loyal nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Lynda's gentle compassion was evident in her everyday actions, from tending her beloved plants to offering a kind word to those in need. Her favorite saying, "I love you more," encapsulated the depth of her affection and the selfless way she cared for others. Lynda was always there with a listening ear and a comforting embrace, making each of us feel incredibly loved.
We'll forever hold dear the memories of her laughter, her stories, and the warmth she brought into our lives. Lynda's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us every day.
Those who have passed on before her are parents, Joe and Charlene Moore, brother, Tom Moore, sister, Jolene Moore Henderson, grandchild, Victoria Faith Searcy, and loving husband of 31 years, Jerry Searcy.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are children, Larry (Jay) Searcy, Joe (Emily) Searcy, Charlene (Rhonda) Searcy, Terry (Jessica) Searcy, and Kelly (Gary) Searcy-Biggs, grandchildren, Nicola Searcy, Ethan MacPhee, Isabella Searcy, Memphis Searcy, Gage Biggs, Mykella Biggs, Caroline Searcy, and Madeline Searcy, and niece Cindi Gesar.
A visitation will take place on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4pm until 8pm and on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11 am. A celebration of her life will take place at 12 pm noon immediately following. A private graveside will take place at a later date.
