Mrs. Margaret Marie Piercey Dillard's Obituary
Margaret Marie Piercey Dillard, age 79 of Madison passed away October 27, 2013. Mrs. Dillard was born on September 23, 1934 in Nashville, TN to the late William Luther Piercey and Celia Ann Cowley Piercey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dillard; brothers, Gilbert Piercey and Hubert Piercey; and sister, Eleanor Piercey Davis. Mrs. Dillard was a loving mother and “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchild that enjoyed working with and teaching people ceramics; she retired from Metro Schools after several years as a special education school bus driver; was a proud member of the Isaac Litton “Marching 100”, and an avid Tennessee Titans fan. She is survived by her son, James (Marcie) Dillard; grandchildren, Jamey (Tyler) Farrar and Austin Dillard; great-granddaughter, Lily Grace Farrar and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Dillard’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 1:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Renee Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be James Dillard, Austin Dillard, Tyler Farrar, Rick Korthase, Butch Davis, Jon Davis, Casey Davis, Steve Ricciardo, Gary Piercey, and Bill Pridemore. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, October 29th from 2-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Neely’s Bend United Methodist Church.
