Margie Lou Matthews, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, in Denison, Texas.
Margie was born on April 23, 1940, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Mitchell Edward Meadows Sr. and Sara Elizabeth (Davis) Meadows.
She is survived by her children, Janet Putman and husband Dale, and Donald “Chip” Matthews and wife Nina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including Dot Moon-
Oliver and Crystal Goodin, along with her extended family and dear friends in Nashville, Tennessee. Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Matthews; her parents; her son, Joseph (Jobie) Matthews Jr.; two granddaughters and her siblings.
