Mrs. Maria Villasor's Obituary
Maria Theresa Villasor, age 87, of Goodlettsville, passed away on December 27, 2014. Mrs. Villasor was born in the Philippines on November 28, 1927 to the late Antonio Gay and Stella Young. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
Maria was happiest when she was serving the Lord. She was a member of the choir at St. Joseph Catholic Church for more than 20 years. She was also a member of the Carmelite Third Order for at least 50 years. Maria took her faith very seriously, and though she was a quiet lady, she perked right up when it came to helping out at the church or assisting with musical arrangements. She taught piano off and on for a number of years as well.
In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband of nearly fifty years, Seraphin Villasor; and brother-in-law, Julio Ortaliz.
Maria is survived by her children, Emilie (Joey) Nuestro, Bob (Leonisa) Villasor, Ronnie (Joy) Villasor, and Thad (Ilene) Villasor; sister, Maria Luisa Ortaliz; and grandchildren, Maitet Villasor, Laura Ashley Nuestro, Dymphna Nuestro, Ronald Villasor, Jr., and River Villasor. She also leaves behind many friends and loved ones at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Maria’s family will receive friends and visitors at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, from 4pm til 8pm, with a Rosary Service to be performed at 6:30pm. Father Tomy Joseph will lead a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in the Serenity Chapel Mausoleum of Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
