Mrs. Marian Athilene Allen Powell's Obituary
Mrs. Marian Athilene Allen Powell, age 92, passed away on May 22, 2019. She was born in Nashville on May 19, 1927 to the late Paschal Carl and Louise Minton Allen. Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Vernon E. Powell; son Carl E. Powell; grandson Garrison E. Powell; brothers Bill and Frank Allen and sister Mickey Carmack. She is survived by her children Violet Hooper, Ricky Powell (Andrea), and Randy Powell (Terri); grandchildren Carla Luther (Jeff), Ginger Hooper, Brian Hooper (Tammy), Corey Powell (Christie), Nicol Rose, Justin Powell, and Samantha Powell; numerous great-grandchildren; sister Leota Rawls and a host of other family and friends.
Marian worked for Vanderbilt University for 25 years. She was an avid bowler and had a great sense of humor. She loved spending time at the beach and with her family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216, (615)865-1101, www.springhillfh.com.
