Marie A. Veard's Obituary
Marie Aileen Veard, age 64 of Greenbrier passed away December 8, 2011 in Gallatin. Marie was born February 23, 1947 in Nashville, TN to Robert and Alice Gertrude King Jennings. She graduated from Howard High School and was salutatorian of her class. She worked as a housewife until her children were grown. She later worked with the Metro Health Department as a secretary for 20 years. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and breast cancer survivor, she ran in relays for breast cancer awareness. She loved UT football, especially attending games and was also an avid bowler. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Edward Veard, Sr.; son, Edward Veard, Jr.; daughter, Debbie (Kip) Yount; brother, Charles Jennings; and grandchildren, Morgan Yount and Presley Veard. A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be conducted at 1 PM, Sunday, December 11, 2011 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Castleberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM on Friday, December 9 and from 4 until 8 PM on Saturday, December 10 at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
