Marie K. Parchman's Obituary
Marie K. Parchman, 93, of Hermitage, Tennessee, gained her reward on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Born October 5, 1929, in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Kirkland and Mattie White Kirkland.
Marie graduated at the top of her class from Springfield High School. She was a member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church. She was an avid reader who enjoyed a good word puzzle or crossword puzzle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Clay Parchman, Jr.; daughter Linda Newman; son Ronald Parchman; grandsons Ronnie Briggs and Adam Parchman; sisters Jane Sisk and Ann Stroud.
She is survived by her daughters Sherry Brummett, Carol Brooks and Kathy (Dennis) Sterry; grandchildren Timberly, Shannon, Dale, Josh, Kerry, Kailey, Chad and Nichole; great grandchildren Garrett, Bailey, Trevor, Emily, Cooper, Reagan, and Maddie; great-great grandchildren Bentley and Taytum; sister Frankie Corder; brother Pete Kirkland.
Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, September 28, at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday, September 29, at 12 pm noon at the funeral home. The family will welcome friends and visitors two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
